INTERMEZZO | Davide Prati – Before the Flowers at Link Cabinet
The Link Art Center is proud to present INTERMEZZO, a new irregular exhibition format on Link Cabinet. Its activities will arbitrarily and randomly intertwine with the usual exhibition program. The inaugural show presents Before the Flowers by Davide Prati that will be online at Link Cabinet from August 9 to September 10, 2017.
Before the Flowers is a 3D animation created with three.js. The work is inspired by a research about Fukushima nuclear disaster effects on vegetation. Althought the radiations generated sensible mutations, the elements and geometric forms that make a flower recognizable are still visible.

Il Link Art Center è lieto di presentare INTERMEZZO, un nuovo irregolare format espositivo per Link Cabinet la cui programmazione si alternerà in modo variabile e arbitrario alla consueta attività espositiva. La mostra inaugurale presenta il lavoro Before the Flowers di Davide Prati e sarà online su Link Cabinet dal 9 agosto al 10 settembre 2017.
Before the Flowers è un’animazione in grafica 3D realizzata nel browser e basata su three.js. Il lavoro nasce da una ricerca sugli effetti del disastro nucleare di Fukushima sulla vegetazione, trasformata e deformata dalle radiazioni. Nonostante le radiazioni abbiano prodotto mutazioni sostanziali, gli elementi e le forme geometriche fondamentali che caratterizzano e rendono riconoscibili i fiori rimangono visibili.

Untitled di Giovanni Fredi a Link Cabinet – Documentazione
Dal 22 Ottobre al 19 Novembre 2016, Link Cabinet ha ospitato Untitled, un’opera inedita di Giovanni Fredi.
L’opera è un nuovo capitolo di To my deacesed, serie che già altri video e opere web-based. Il progetto è nato da una libera rielaborazione del Quingming Festival, una festività tradizionale cinese dedicata alla commemorazione dei defunti. L’usanza vuole che come offerta rituale vengano bruciati i cosiddetti joss paper, riproduzioni in carta di oggetti e beni di vario genere, in modo che questi doni possano allietare i propri avi. Più recentemente è stata adottata la pratica di bruciare riproduzioni di banconote, carte di credito, automobili, smartphone e strumenti tecnologici. (more…)
Untitled by Giovanni Fredi at Link Cabinet – Documentation
From October 22 to November 19, 2016 Link Cabinet presented Untitled, a new work by Giovanni Fredi.
The art work is a new iteration of To my deacesed, a project that already included some video and web-based works. The project is inspired by the Qingming Festival, a traditional event in China to remember and honour the ancestors. During this event people use to burn joss papers, paper replicas of different kind of objects as offerings to be enjoyed by the deceased during their afterlife. More recently joss paper include paper currency, credit cards replicas, cars, luxury objects, smartphones and digital devices in general. (more…)
