Giovanni Fredi: Last Souvenir

From Thursday, July 19 to Sunday, July 22, in the frame of the Musical Zoo Festival in Brescia, the Link Art Center will present a preview of Giovanni Fredi‘s last work, Last Souvenir (2012): a video installation featuring a selection of 230 photographs from the memory card of a destroyed digital camera found by the artist on the ruins of Ishinomaki, Japan, after the recent tsunami.

 

Last Souvenir explores the life of a young couple picturing itself in its moments of happiness, from everyday life to holidays to the wedding day: the last souvenirs of two living beings without a name.

 

Giovanni Fredi (Brescia 1984) is an artist and photo-reporter. He studied at the Accademia di Brera in Milan.
