Dadaclub.online: the Exhibition at Spazio Contemporanea, Brescia

On February 5, 2016 the Link Art Center launched Dadaclub.online, an online archive and creative platform meant to celebrate the dada legacy in the centenary of dada’s birth, that took place in Zurich on February 5, 1916. For a year, Dadaclub.online has been a place for uninterrupted experimentation, promoting the creative reuse of digital copies of original dada artworks. On February 5, 2017, when we stopped publishing updates, the platform offered 148 artworks, and had been visited 248,672 times. Now, we are happy to announce that, from March 25 to April 15, 2017, all these artworks will be on show at Spazio Contemporanea, Brescia, Italy, alongside some dada originals kindly offered by Collezione Campiani. Better Not Tell You Now – Émilie Brout & Maxime Marion su Link Cabinet

Il Link Art Center è lieto di presentare Better Not Tell You Now, un’opera inedita di Émilie Brout & Maxime Marion. La mostra sarà online su Link Cabinet dall’8 marzo al 7 aprile 2017.
 
Better Not Tell You Now é un’opera video generativa creata e presentata in anteprima per la mostra a Link Cabinet. Sfruttando la tecnologia del machine learning gli artisti hanno istruito e allenato un’intelligenza artificiale fornendole un database di quarantamila messaggi presi da Reddit, il famoso sito di dibattito online e aggregazione di notizie. Scavando tra le sezioni dedicate a cospirazionismo, filosofia e futurologia sono stati individuati e scelti messaggi e intere discussioni incentrate sui temi dell’intelligenza artificiale e della singolarità. A partire da questo vasto database l’opera genera automaticamente un testo, ogni volta nuovo ed unico, al quale vengono associate immagini scelte e caricate in tempo reale, individuate attraverso ricerche per parole chiave presenti nel testo. Émilie Brout & Maxime Marion – Better Not Tell You Now at Link Cabinet

The Link Art Center is proud to present Better Not Tell You Now, a new work by Émilie Brout & Maxime Marion. The show will be online at Link Cabinet from March 8 to April 7, 2017.
 
Better Not Tell You Now is a generative video created and presented for the first time at Link Cabinet. Using machine learning technology the artists trained an artifical intelligence with a database of forty thousand messages from Reddit, the renowned social news aggregator and discussion website. Going through subreddits like Conspiracy, Philosophy and Futurology, the artists selected messages and discussions focused mainly on Artificial Intelligence and Singularity. Starting from this wide database the work automatically generates a recombinant text, always new and unique. The images displayed on the background are loaded in real-time, searched for keywords related to the text. (more…)

Material Speculation: ISIS di Morehshin Allahyari su Link Cabinet – Documentazione

Dal 2 Dicembre 2016 al 5 Febbraio 2017 Link Cabinet ha ospitato Material Speculation: ISIS, un progetto di Morehshin Allahyari.

Morehshin Allahyari utilizza la tecnologia per la stampa 3D come uno strumento alternativo di archiviazione di opere e manufatti, così come una modalità peculiare di documentazione e resistenza politica. Nella serie Material Speculation: ISIS alcuni reperti di valore storico distrutti dall’ISIS nel 2015. Dopo un lungo lavoro di ricerca e dopo aver raccolto un grande numero di immagini e documenti degli oggetti distrutti, Allahyari è stata in grado di ricreare e stampare in 3D dei manufatti.
