Sara Ludy – Deeptimesurfacetime

Feb 20, 2019

The Link Art Center is proud to present Deeptimesurfacetime, a sound piece by Sara Ludy. The show will be online at Link Cabinet from February 20 to March 24, 2019.

With Deeptimesurfacetime for the very first time Link cabinet hosts a sound piece, thus further expanding the possibilities and typologies of artworks it can display as a web-based gallery. The work, realized on the occasion of this exhibition, is a sound project that weaves together field recordings from two artificially constructed environments, Nan Lian Garden in Hong Kong and a Ludy built VR aviary. Natural, artificial and digital sounds add up, mix and run after each other, leaving the listener the duty of shaping an unlikely union of the two worlds combined by the artist. Deeptimesurfacetime further develops Ludy’s artistic practice that blends natural and artificial, real and virtual, suggesting an experience of the digital that is built around the contamination between concrete and abstract, in a context where everything looks new and unknown and at the same time somehow oddly familiar.
